About This Production

Welcome to the Sycamore home, where someone is always writing a play, practicing ballet, making candy, printing mysterious documents, collecting snakes, or setting off fireworks in the basement.

Into this cheerful household comes Alice Sycamore, who has fallen in love with Tony Kirby. When their very proper families meet for dinner on entirely the wrong night, every attempt at respectability collapses in spectacular fashion. PaperMap’s production brings this large, gloriously eccentric family together just a few feet from the audience. Seasoned performers and first-time actors will share the stage, creating a home that feels crowded, unpredictable, and completely alive.

This is a play all about the joy of making things together, the courage to be yourself, and the kind of community that grows when everyone is given permission to belong.

Most of all, we chose it because it is tremendously funny. It offers audiences an evening of warmth, joyful chaos, and the happy reminder that the richest life may be the one filled with people rather than possessions.
