✧ Why This Story?
Dracula endures because the monster is only part of the story.
The novel is also about people gathering fragments of information and choosing to believe one another. They survive because they share what they know, trust what sounds impossible, and refuse to let anyone face the darkness alone.
That is a deeply theatrical idea and a deeply communal one.
We chose Dracula because fear can isolate people, but storytelling can bring them back together.
About This Production
The adaptation will draw from Stoker’s documentary structure, allowing journals, letters, newspaper reports, and testimony to become part of the action.
The company will help create the atmosphere as well as the characters. Sound, breath, movement, light, and shifting points of view will allow the story to move quickly across ships, bedrooms, streets, hospitals, graveyards, and distant castles.
The production will favor suspense and imagination over graphic horror.
Auditions
Auditions are currently anticipated for August 2027.
Rehearsals are expected to begin in late August or early September and will generally take place on weekday evenings.
