Ambient music, dim theatrical lighting, a few vintage books (props) to browse, and absolutely no required small talk.

We’re trying something new at PaperMap.

For one cozy Sunday afternoon, we’re turning the theater into a quiet reading space filled with warm theatrical light, ambient music, old furniture, and a bunch of people happily getting lost in their own books.

There’s no assigned reading, no book discussion, and no introductions. Just bring something you want to read, find a comfortable spot, and settle in.

PaperMap also has a collection of vintage books you’re welcome to browse while you’re here, though we highly recommend bringing your own.

Stay for the whole three hours, or quietly come and go as you need to. Coffee, tea, and small snacks are welcome.

What is a Book Rave?

Think of it as a book club without the homework. Coffee, tea, and small snacks are welcome. (We don’t serve anything at PaperMap, so bring your own from a local Thornton Park coffee shop or tasty spot!)

Stay for the whole afternoon, or quietly come and go as you need to. Everyone reads their own thing, together. The music stays soft, the lights stay low, and the afternoon is intentionally easy.

The “& Co.” part

When we opened PaperMap Theater & Co., the “& Co.” was always meant to leave space for things beyond the productions on our stage. Small gatherings. Creative afternoons. Old books. Good music. A little analog time together.

So, while we have a cozy October pause between shows, this felt like a lovely place to begin.
